How the "Shovel" Oiling System Works
Green is Low Pressure Feed. Red is
High Pressure Feed
Pressurized oil is forced thru
oil screen, thru crankcase passages
to external oil lines that
lubricate rocker arms, shafts, etc. A branch
system supplies oil to the
hydraulic lifters. When oil reaches rocker
arms and lifters, pressure
relief valve opens and allows pressurized
oil to flow to pinion shaft
where it oils the lower rod bearings.
