Our business, that produces Harley Davidson parts for Harley Davidson motorcycles, began in 1991. The first product that we made was the "Superpump-Kit". The reason behind the "Superpump-Kit" was that we had rebuilt a '47 FL Harley Davidson "Knucklehead" engine. The engine had everything done to it, (new rods, pistons, rocker arms rebushed, etc.) and it still wouldn't carry oil pressure. So, we bought and installed a late model (factory Harley Davidson) aluminum bodied oil pump. Guess what, same lousy oil pressure.
So, to say the least, we were very disgusted! In our search for oil pressure, we were enlightened to the fact that drag racers (auto) used stiffer springs to get better oil pressure. The decision was made and we produced some prototype springs. We then installed each spring for testing and they worked perfectly! Our search for oil pressure was over.
